Ysabel, hands in the clay
I make pottery in small batches, without ever chasing perfection. A little drip of enamel, a shape that has its own character: it's my signature! Each piece is unique, a bit like us... with its little imperfections that make all its charm. They are just waiting for the right accomplice to be adopted!
The Craft
Four stepsStep 1 of 4
Throwing
The clay rises between my fingers and becomes a shape. That’s where each piece finds its personality.
Step 2 of 4
Trimming
The next day, the piece has firmed up. I turn it over to carve its foot.
Step 3 of 4
Smoothing
A pass of the sponge to soften the rim, right where your lips will rest every morning.
Step 4 of 4
Glazing and firing
A dip in glaze, two firings, and the kiln decides the rest. No two pieces are quite alike.
